Tractor-trailer flips over on Beltway
A tractor trailer turned onto its side on the inner loop of the Beltway late Monday night, closing all lanes near the Connecticut Avenue exit for a short time.
The accident occurred about 11 p.m. As of about 11:30 p.m., some traffic started moving again along the left shoulder of the inner loop, even though the truck was still overturned. The truck driver was taken to a local hospital for the treatment of minor injuries, Maryland State Police said. No other injuries were reported.
It was not immediately clear whether icy roads may have contributed to the accident.
