Two shot in Oxon Hill
Two men were shot in the Oxon Hill area Wednesday afternoon, and a school nearby has been placed on lockdown while police search for suspects, authorities said.
The incident occurred just before 12:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of Indian Head Highway, near the Eastover Shopping Center, police said. Two men were shot in that area and transported to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries remains unclear, police said.
Nearby Forest Heights Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown "just as a precaution because it's in the area," said Cpl. Erica Johnson, a spokeswoman for the Prince George's County Police Department. She said police are searching for a 15-passenger white van and multiple suspects who might be connected to the incident.
