About two dozen patrons and employees were in the PHO 88 restaurant in the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center about 12:30 p.m. when a motorist drove a Honda Pilot SUV through the brick and glass front, said Fire and EMS spokesman Mark Brady in a news release.

Three patrons, men in their 30s, sustained minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital. Two women who were in the Honda were not injured, Brady said.

The restaurant, at 10478 Baltimore Ave., sustained significant damage. A building inspector declared it uninhabitable.

Mike Woo, the restaurant’s owner, shook his head as construction workers cleaned up after the accident. His popular beef and noodle soup eatery was named by Washingtonian Magazine as a 2010 Best Bargain.

Of course they weren't. Only the people the driver mowed down were injured.

WaPo probably won't follow up on the story but chances are great that driver was an old crone too senile or too stupid to know the difference between the brake and the accelerator.

I'm betting the driver was on a cellphone . . .

The headline says this was a Virginia restaurant. The last time I ate there it was in Prince George's County. This website needs to verify its postings before the public finds more simple errors.
