Vigil tonight for slain student from Waldorf
Friends and family of a slain Frostburg University student are holding a candlelight ceremony to mark his birthday.
Brandon Carroll would have turned 21 Tuesday. His family is asking people to remember him by performing an act of kindness for a stranger and lighting a candle at 7 p.m.
A remembrance on campus will include a 21-minute, candlelight ceremony.
Carroll, of Waldorf, was killed April 18 by a shotgun blast fired by student Tyrone Hall.
Hall is serving a five-year sentence for manslaughter.
