Well, I'm sorry to hear, but I'm not surprised this doesn't happen a lot more often, especially with PG County Police officers.

WaPo should not allow comments for these types of stories. Some people are just morons who shouldn't get the chance to vent anonymously.

I'm not a moron, but was just trying to say with all of the abuse charges and killings that PG Officer have done over the years I'm just surprise they don't shoot themselves. And I wish you could see who writes some of the most racist things on here, because I bet the person(s) wouldn't do it anymore.

That is one job that will change you & work you over mentally. Considering the domestic abuse, rapes, assulats, murders & robbery among many other things most officers view - my heart goes out to them. In every profession their is a bad seed, but that shouldn't cast a shadow over the entire force. Poor soul must have been tormented to go that far!

Police officers jobs is one of the toughest jobs. Lot of mental and physical stress, long and odd hours of work plus pay that does not match the risk. Especially in PG and DC constant accusation of use of excessiver force and racism charges. If they shoot someone who is violent they get the blame for shooting, if they dont take action they get blame for it. If we did not have good police, this place will quickly become likes of Somalia.
