D.C. officer shoots knife-wielding man

The Metropolitan Police said that one of their officers shot a man wielding a knife earlier this afternoon near the intersection of 6th and Kenyon streets NW.
D.C. Police spokesman Kenny Bryson said the officer was involved in a confrontation with the unnamed man and at some point the officer fired his weapon striking the man, who was transported to local hospital with unknown injuries.
