1 dead, 1 wounded in robbery attempt
One man is dead and another man is hospitalized after being shot during an apparent robbery in Northwest Washington early Monday, police said.
D.C. police were called to the 900 block of Decatur Street NW about 2:30 a.m. There they found Oscar Rubio, 21, of the 800 block of Decatur Street NW with a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police found a second victim shot and wounded in the 800 block of Crittenden Street NW. They declined to disclose details about the surviving victim because he is a witness.
