3 shot in NE D.C.
Three people, including two teenagers, were shot Sunday evening in Northeast Washington, authorities said.
One of the teenagers, who appeared to be about 14 or 15 years old, was believed to be seriously wounded in the incident, which occurred around 7 p.m. near 53rd and Clay Streets NE, authorities said.
A witness said it appeared that the second teenager, who was believed to be older, was struck in the foot.
The third victim was described as a man who may have been in his 20s.
A neighborhood resident said it appeared that a large number of people were in the area when he heard the sound of four or five shots.
The three victims were all taken to hospitals, according to D.C. fire and emergency medical services spokesman Pete Piringer.
It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.
