3 shot near D.C.-Md. border
Three people were shot in Tuesday evening in the Capitol Heights area near the District border, Prince George's County police said.
Officers were called to Benning Road at the intersection with Marlboro Pike, where police said three males were shot about 6:40 p.m., said Officer Evan Baxter, a spokesman.
The victims suffered wounds believed to be "non-critical," and were taken to local hospitals, Baxter said. No information was available immediately on their ages or genders.
One of those shot managed to flee to the District border at Benning Road and Southern Avenue, where he flagged down a D.C. police officer for help, Baxter said.
Police were investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
