Body found in car trunk at impound lot
D.C. police say a body was discovered in the trunk of a red vintage convertible that had been towed twice by District officials.
The body was discovered Thursday after a worker at the police impound lot smelled a foul odor coming from the trunk. Police opened the trunk and found the body.
The city's Department of Public Works towed the car from Northwest Washington on July 12 because it was in violation of rush hour restrictions, police said. On July 15, it was towed again, this time to the city's police impound lot.
