Candlelight vigil for AU professor tonight
A candlelight vigil will be held Tuesday night for an American University professor killed in her Montgomery County home, WTOP reports.
Friends and neighbors of Sue Ann Marcum will gather at 7 p.m. on Wiscasset Road off Mohican Place, behind Marcum's Glen Echo home.
Marcum died of asphyxia and blunt force trauma, according to Montgomery County police.
Deandrew Hamlin, 18, was caught driving Marcum's 1999 Jeep Cherokee about 13 hours after she was found dead. He has been called a suspect in her murder.
Marcum had taught at American University's Kogod School of Business since 1999. Before that, she served as the tax director for the circus company Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey.
