Commerce workers excused Friday
By Ed O'Keefe
Commerce Department employees who work in the Herbert C. Hoover Building in downtown Washington will be on administrative leave Friday and should telework, officials said early Friday.
The department's emergency personnel are still expected to report as normal, officials said.
D.C. Firefighters responded Thursday at about 8 p.m. to a small fire on the Hoover building's third floor. No injuries were reported, but the building was evacuated.
The Hoover Building is undergoing a massive multiyear renovation that has required employees to relocate to swing space mostly in the basement of the structure.
