Was he wearing his seat belt? Many cops don't because they feel laws don't apply to them.

DCFanatic- I'm an NYPD wife and my husband doesn't always wear his seatbelt when responding to incidents or emergencies because he's running on adrenaline and needs to jump out of the car as soon as it slows. Keep your nonsense out of stories when someone whose job to protect YOUR life is taken.
Many prayers to Officer Ditamo's family.

Memo to DCFanatic:
You should wear a mouthbelt.
And blow into it to verify your stupidity is less than .08 for it to unlock.
