D.C. will offer tax amnesty
The District will launch a tax amnesty program the last week in July, providing thousands of scofflaws the opportunity to pay their bills with interest but without penalty, The Washington Business Journal reports.
The two-month amnesty program will cover most taxes, income and sales included, sources in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer said.
The CFO’s office released few details, including exact dates, out of concern that people will simply stop paying their taxes ahead of the program’s launch.
