Ford's Theatre audience donates to SOME
Ford’s Theatre says it has raised more than $77,000 from theatergoers during the holiday season for the charity So Others Might Eat.
The theater ran a donation drive during curtain calls after productions of “A Christmas Carol” between Nov. 20 and Dec. 29.
The theater also announced Tuesday that patrons had donated more than 25 boxes of clothing and other items for the charity’s gift drive.
An actor playing Scrooge helped hand over a check to So Others Might Eat President John Adams. Adams says his group is grateful for the support of the city’s poor and homeless during a difficult economic time.
