Don't panic, it's just snow: D.C. area blogs

By Lori Aratani

Good afternoon. And on Thursday … it snowed. And on Sunday, it looks like it may snow again. Let's just hope it lets up a bit for this evening's commute. And if it doesn't -- let's hope all those counties who pledge improved snow response this season, really meant it.

From The Natural Capital -- celebrating nature and the holidays.

In honor of our first snowstorm of the season, Borderstan takes a look back at their favorite posts from “Snowpocalypse.”

Penn Quarter Living reports that the National Building Museum (if you haven’t been you have to go) is looking for docents to help visitors and give the museum that “personal” touch.

If you’re going to be away for the holidays, The Hill is Home has some tips for preparing your home and preventing things like exploding water pipes during your holiday absence.

Some reassuring words from We Love D.C. regarding the white stuff currently falling outside your window.

That's it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great (snowy) evening. I'll be back tomorrow with more great posts from the D.C. area blogosphere. Remember, you can always send me suggestions for blogs I should be reading. And if you're a blogger -- don't be shy. Drop me a note. Post a comment below or send an e-mail to aratanil@washpost.com.
