Fabulous art, cheap beer: D.C. blogs
Good afternoon. Friday at last. We hope your power is back (or will be quite soon) and the snow has either melted or been cleared from your home by magic elves. So what does the D.C.-area blogosphere hold for us today? How about a bit of charity, some cheap beer and dash of fabulous art? It's all here.
From All Life is Local – Mover Moms, a local group, is sponsoring a “Hope and Soap” drive for victims of the Haiti earthquake. The hope is that donations of soap can help prevent the spread of a deadly cholera epidemic. Details and places where you can drop off donations, here.
From East City Art – love this new mural that greets folks who stop by historic Anacostia. It’s on the corner of Good Hope Road and Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue SE.
DCist poses an interesting question for connoisseurs of cheap beer – would you drink Walgreen’s beer? Seems the drug store giant is poised to introduce private label brew.
In for a long flight? Metrocurean has some recommendations for snacks to pack for that long plane trip, not to mention the time you’ll be spending sitting on the runway.
Got a bit of cabin fever? The Triangle has some recommendations for fun things to do (and eat) this weekend.
That's it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend. Back Monday with more great posts from the D.C.-area blogosphere.
