Large fire on Minnesota Avenue NE
Firefighters responded Thursday morning to a large fire at a commercial building in the 4100 block of Minnesota Avenue NE, D.C. officials said.
The bulk of the blaze, which began shortly after 5:30 a.m., has been knocked down, said Pete Piringer, a spokesman for D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
The building, between two and three stories tall, appears to have been under construction, Piringer said.
There were no injuries.
Firefighters and equipment remain on the scene and drivers should expect delays in the area.
