Howard U Hospital announces layoffs
Howard University Hospital is laying off an unknown number of workers as part of major restructuring plan, its chief executive confirmed to the Washington Business Journal last week.
“To continue to provide the best services possible, the hospital has initiated a comprehensive plan that includes the restructuring of personnel and programs,” said CEO Larry Warren in a prepared statement. “The plan includes a reduction in force that will allow the hospital to remain fiscally viable in these difficult economic times and to further advance its mission of providing quality care while reducing the region’s health care disparities.”
