By Washington Post editors

For those who may have too good of a time on this St. Patrick's Day, SoberRide will provide free taxi service to those who might drive drunk.

Beginning at 4 p.m., anyone over 21 in the Washington area can call 800-200-TAXI for a ride that's free up to a $50 fare. AT&T wireless customers can dial #TAXI for the service.

The service will run until 4 a.m. Thursday.

All calls must originate from the following locations: the District, Montgomery or Prince George's counties; the cities of Rockville, Bowie, College Park, Gaithersburg, Greenbelt or Takoma Park; Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William or eastern Loudoun counties; the cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax, Manassas and Manassas Park.
