Jimmy Carter helps build D.C. homes
Former President Jimmy Carter and former first lady Rosalynn Carter are helping Habitat for Humanity volunteers build and rehabilitate homes in Washington.
Just days after spending time in an Ohio hospital with a viral infection, Carter was hammering nails and hoisting new home frames into place on Monday with Habitat volunteers.
Habitat for Humanity plans to build six homes and rehabilitate another six in Washington’s Ivy City neighborhood. The group aims to construct or repair a total of 86 homes in Washington, Baltimore, Annapolis, Md., St. Paul, Minn. and Birmingham, Ala.
Carter told CBS’s “The Early Show” on Monday morning that he feels fine after his time in the hospital and has “been out working ever since.”

Odd....Americans wrote off Jimmy Carter as a failed President and in hindsight, it looks like he will leave behind a greatly admired legacy...Ronald Reagan who ousted him for the Presidency had been lauded by the GOP as a great President..in hindsight, this cowboy laid the foundations for the disastrous legacy of Idiot in Chief George W Bush....what a turnround....
