Leaking package closes D.C. streets
Authorities have closed some downtown Washington streets as they investigate a package leaking an unknown substance.
D.C. fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says a pharmaceutical company at 950 F Street in northwest Washington received an unexpected package that was leaking and called authorities Tuesday.
Piringer says a hazardous materials team is evaluating the substance. He says there is no threat associated with the delivery and no related illnesses.
