Manhole fire in SW D.C.
Update, 9:35 p.m.:
The underground fire that caused three manholes to pop their covers in Southwest D.C. has been extinguished.
No injuries were reported in the incident near Southeastern University about 8 p.m. Thursday. The manhole covers were all near the intersection of 6th and I streets.
Earlier:
Authorities are on the scene of a reported manhole fire at 6th and I streets in Southwest Washington, D.C. police said. The incident was reported shortly after 8 p.m.
No further information was immediately avaliable.
