Naval Support Facility holds security exercise
Naval Support Activity Washington is conducting a security exercise Wednesday involving firearms at the Naval Support Facility, Firth Sterling and South Capital St SE.
Officials say employees and visitors to area naval installations should be prepared for potential delays entering the facilities.
“This is a scheduled exercise, planned months in advance and coordinated locally by our training department," said Capt. John Sears, commanding officer of Naval Support Activity Washington. "It is not related to any specific threat or incident.”
Training exercises will be conducted through Friday.
