Skateboarder injured in firetruck incident
A teenage skateboarder had his foot run over by a D.C. firetruck late Thursday after he tried to latch onto the truck, officials said.
Fire department spokesman Pete Piringer said Truck 11 was returning to its station in the 700 block of Sheridan Street NW when the teenager grabbed hold of the back of the truck about 6 p.m. Somehow, the vehicle injured his foot.
Piringer said the youth, described as 14 or 15 years old, was taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries.
