9 Starbucks in Giant stores close
It seems that not everyone wants a latte while grocery shopping.
Giant and Starbucks have decided to close nine Starbucks in Giant's grocery stores because they haven't been profitable. The closings occurred between Feb. 22 and March 31.
The Baltimore Sun first reported the closings.
Employees at the nine locations were given the opportunity to continue working for Giant by transferring to another department or store.
The Starbucks closing are located in the following Giant stores:
- 6340 York Road, York Road Plaza, Baltimore
- 12051 Rockville Pike, Montrose Crossing, Rockville
- 15520 Annapolis Road, Free State Mall, Bowie
- 2932 Chain Bridge Road, Oakton
- 5701 Plank Road, Harrison Crossing, Fredericksburg
- 13781 Connecticut Avenue, Aspen Hill Shopping Center, Silver Spring
- 20944 Frederick Road, Neelsville Village Center, Germantown
- 5740 Union Mill Road, Colonnade, Clifton
- 1450 North Point Road, North Point Village Center, Reston
