Proposal on the Red Line, or maybe not

By Washington Post editors

Dear D.C. residents,

We here at Post Now need your help. A friend of a friend of a friend has posted an interesting Facebook message this Friday:

Just witnessed a marriage proposal on the Metro (for DC was the red line). Guy launches into speech about how they met on the Metro. He then gets down on one knee and produces ring. Girl mouths it is is too soon, then runs off the train..."

Now we're not usually the suspicious type -- OK, we are -- but this sounds a lot like another incident we were told about a few months back. Guy launches into speech on Metro, gets down on one knee, girl goes running off the train.... etc.

So what say you D.C.?

And if you witnessed the proposal gone awry, tell us about it in the comments section.
