Shirley they can't be serious ...

By Washington Post editors

We're not exactly sure why -- and for some we're certain no reason is needed -- but area AMC Theaters are bringing the cult comedy classic "Airplane" back to the big screen.

The showings will take place Jan. 29 at 12:30 p.m. and Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.

Local theaters where you can catch the film include:

  • AMC Loews Georgetown 14

  • AMC Hoffman 22

  • AMC Potomac Mills 18

  • AMC Loews Rio Cinemas 18

  • AMC Tysons Corner 16

I'm guessing they're showing it because Leslie Nielsen just died. Helloooo! ...
