Snow causing numerous accidents
Authorities throughout the Washington region are reporting dozens of accidents because of the snowy and icy streets.
In the District, a person was found unconscious on Military Road near 16th Street in Northwest Washington about 7:30 p.m., after a tree fell on the truck. The person was taken to a hospital with CPR in progress. Four other people apparently were injured less seriously in the same incident.
D.C. fire department spokesman Pete Piringer said 98 percent of the department's resources are on emergency calls, and that reserve units were pressed into service.
