School delays: Arlington, Fairfax, MoCo, PG

In Virginia, Arlington County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, Spotsylvania County, Falls Church City, Manassas City and Manassas Park City schools will open two hours late. Fairfax County schools will open two hours late and offices will open on time; morning half-day programs are canceled. Fauquier County and Stafford County schools are closed.

In Maryland, Prince George's County schools will open two hours late and central offices will open one hour late. Montgomery County schools will also open two hours late and morning half-day classes are canceled. Calvert County, Charles County, Howard County and St. Mary's County schools will open two hours late. Anne Arundel County schools, including full-day pre-kindergarten classes, will open two hours late; morning half-day pre-kindergarten is canceled. Frederick County Public Schools are closed due to the weather.

Arlington county and the surrounding jurisdictions are expecting another 3-6 inches of SALT? Not more salt....

When I was growing up in Prince George's County (before white flight occurred and the county became deadly) we didn't cancel class until it snowed, and we would be let out at lunch time.

sdtxyz, I can't agree more. I just moved out here from Chicago and can't get over how people out here react to the possibility of snow.

Spotysylvania Schools are NOT closed on 1/12/2011. They are on a 2 hour delay. The information here is incorrect. Please check the web page at: http://www.spotsylvania.k12.va.us for the correct information.
