Sunday's storm claims fourth victim
Sunday's violent thunderstorm has claimed its fourth fatality.
Carl Henn, 48, a Rockville civic activist, died Tuesday afternoon at Washington Hospital Center after apparently being struck by lightning during the storm, Rockville mayor Phyllis Marcuccio said late Tuesday night.
Marcuccio described Henn as “one of the kindest, gentlest, warmest individuals” and said he started Rockville’s community garden program. He was killed at a community garden celebration in the King Farm neighborhood, Marcuccio said.

Carl was a decent family man who cared deeply about his community. He will be greatly missed.

This is sad news for Rockville and for Montgomery County.
I vigorously disagreed with Mr. Henn on one very major issue - Maryland's InterCounty Connector toll road project, but I respected him as a worthy and tenacious opponent.
