Suspect in Chandra Levy killing in court

By Washington Post Editors

A man accused of killing a federal intern whose remains were found in Rock Creek Park is expected to appear in court.

A status hearing is scheduled in D.C. Superior Court for Ingmar Guandique, who has been charged in the killing of Chandra Levy, on Friday morning.

Levy went missing in 2001 and her remains were found a year later. Guandique has been serving a 10-year sentence for attacks on other women in the same park.

Guandique has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other counts filed last April in Levy's death. His jury trial is set for October.
