Suspicious package closes Thomas Circle
10:57 a.m.
D.C. police and fire officials are investigating a suspicious package in the Thomas Circle area in downtown Washington.
Post transportation writer Ashley Halsey III reports that traffic in the vicinity is snarled. Police are not even allowing foot traffic to get close to the scene.
14th Street NW is blocked in both directions at Thomas Circle as is Vermont Avenue.
