Here comes the Metro lottery.

I hope Metro gets it together. But to be fair to Metro, people do drive crazy trying to avoid getting "stuck" behind a Metrobus. I would rather be stuck behind a Metrobus, than struck by a Metrobus.

Affirmative action at it's finest! If you keep hiring because of color and not because of skillset, these types of problems will continue.

Affirmative Action at its finest?...really? tmi1, please expand your racist conservative mind for a second...I believe it would be more accurate to define Metro's hiring practices, along with the majority of DC government's hiring practices, as a system of NEPOTISM...and not Affirmative Action. Your comment is almost beneath me to even comment...but I always like to educate those who are not as fortunate to have had the educational opportunities Affirmative Action has afforded me as a Black Man. You know, this country is so equal now since affirmative action entered the game right?...and we blacks have taken so many jobs away from qualified whites right? Please, this argument and viewpoint is such low level conservative banter...So 400 years of slavery...and Jim Crow segregation were all just wiped out overnight and the entire playing field made equal between whites and blacks with affirmative action? It is hard to believe that there are still opponents of affirmative action out there these days that use it as an argument to explain a Metro accident where people were injured. Amazing.

There's nothing in the article that implies the color of the driver of the bus is an affirmative action hiree or at fault.

So, you drew these conclusions based on your prejudice - which I'm not doing when I call you a moron.

The bus drivers I've experienced are far better drivers than anyone as dumb as you could possibly be.

The racist comments need to be removed, but the death wish is the bottom of the pit, get a grip, use the "report abuse" link, or say nothing if that's the best you can come up with. People making the racist comments are keeping racism alive, while the rest of us, don't see any color.

If the injuries weren't life-threatening, they shouldn't have been taken to the hospital. If you aren't about to die, you should not be allowed into a hospital. Suck it up, soak in a hot tub, and move on!

This occured at 9:30 and no details available yet? Which driver was at fault? Did the WAPO staff go home early today?

Get to the story about a BLACK METROBUS driver driving a 50 series bus south on 14th street, texting & driving (against FEDERAL & METRO regulations).

She got what was comming to her.

As much as was publised last summer, about front line METRO workers driving & texting, evidently she didn't think those rules applied to her! Good riddance!!

i'd hate to point out the obvious...
