Smart growth, big cheese: D.C.'s blogs

Good afternoon. Wasn't expecting snow until Sunday, but we had a nice dusting here in D.C. and around the region. The Twitterverse lit up around 10ish with reports from Vienna to Gaithersburg. The Capital Weather Gang had this post.

There’s always a lot written about where communities go wrong when it comes to growth. Greater Greater Washington takes a different tack in this post on the top five Smart Growth moments of 2010.

Here’s a great primer from The Natural Capital on the trees of winter.

Eat More, Drink More has details on the newest entry into the D.C. area’s food truck fleet: the Big Cheese Truck.

It’s the holidays, and all around us we’re being urged to give. It will make us feel good. There are lots of folks less fortunate than we are. If you’re still on the fence, Sweating the Big Stuff offers several other reasons why donating to charity also makes financial sense.
