Layering & liquid warmth: D.C's blogs
Good afternoon. How are you coping? Frankly, I'm running out of words to express how cold it is. Fortunately I'll know how to stay warm thanks to our D.C. area bloggers, who have some handy tips for saying warm during cold weather. Via DCist -- The Nationals’ own “Racing Presidents” do “The Nutcraker.” Don’t laugh, Abe look pretty graceful while leaping. And Teddy? Teddy gets his solo.
Nats officials are asking to add their curly W logo to the Navy Yard Metro station sign. Reports JDLand: “At Monday night’s ANC 6D meeting, Nationals vice president Gregory McCarthy said that focus groups with fans have indicated a strong identification with the logo, and just as the Curly W appears on freeway signs around the area directing drivers to the stadium, the team wants the same icon to direct transit users.” Thoughts? Read more in the request here.
My boss says that when he gets cold, he breaks out his "Minnesota Coat." Our friends at The Natural Capital have advice from a different region. Presenting “A Southerner’s Guide to Keeping Warm Outdoors in the Winter.” Hint: layers people, layers.
Endless Simmer asked some local bartenders to offer modern spins on classic winter drinks, including hot buttered rum. Here are the (hiccup!) results.
Calling all cooks. Bethesda Actually is hosting a recipe exchange for its readers. Send in your favorites – and possibly find some new ones.
That's it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great day. I'll be back tomorrow with more great posts from the D.C. area blogosphere. If you'd like to read more local blogs, be sure to check out our Local Blog Directory.
