Woman dies from injuries in NW D.C. fire

A woman who suffered serious burns in house fire in Northwest last week died Monday from her injuries, WTOP reports.
Ida Thomspson, 92, died at Washington Hospital Center. Thompson was taken from the second-floor bedroom of a house in the 400 block of Luray Place on Friday. She sustained serious burns and smoke inhalation.
Fire investigators believe the blaze was caused by an overheated extension cord.
