Woman seriously hurt in Southeast fire
A woman was seriously injured in an apartment building fire in Southeast Washington early Wednesday, authorities said.
Firefighters responding to the fire at about 2:45 a.m. helped the woman and several other people escape the pre-dawn blaze sparked in a third-floor apartment in the 2700 block of Bruce Place SE, fire department spokesman Pete Piringer said.
One family has been displaced by the fire, Piringer said.
The woman’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
