Judge fines parents of driver in fatal crash
The parents of a Frederick man who allegedly struck and killed a jogger in Emmitsburg have been fined $200 each for letting him operate their pickup truck uninsured, WJLA reports.
Ann Cool, 57, and her 53-year-old husband, Joseph, were convicted Thursday in Frederick. The judge granted them probation before judgment, which means their convictions will be expunged if they pay the fines and complete 18 months of unsupervised probation, the station reported.
The couple's 29-year-old son, Joshua, is scheduled for trial March 30 on charges of negligent driving and other offenses stemming from the death of Mount St. Mary's University student Elizabeth DiNunzio, 22, in April.
