Dulles Connector Road test delayed
A loud test to gather data about the load capacity of a foundation near the interchange of the Dulles Connector Road and Rte 123 in McLean scheduled to take place at about 1 p.m. has been postponed until 2:30 or 3 p.m.Thursday.
Officials with the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project warned that it will sound like an explosion to workers and others in the area.
Contractors building the first leg of the rail project are testing the structural integrity of a foundation that will support the aerial structures of the future subway, which will run to Dulles International Airport.
Officials with the Dulles Corridor Rail Project had no immediate explanation for the testing delay. They had been warning people about the test because the sound might resembled a small explosion.
