Dupont Circle Station reopens after threat
Metro's Dupont Circle station is reopening on the red line after someone called in a bomb threat.
Police conducted a security sweep of the station after the threat was called in about 1:20 p.m. A Metro spokesman says the station reopened shortly after 2 p.m.

If it was a real bomb, why would someone call in to report it? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose?
