Lab accident at Leesburg middle school

Five eighth-grade students in a science class at Harper Park Middle School in Leesburg received minor burns when a beaker of boiling water overflowed about 11 a.m. Friday, according to Loudoun County Fire and Rescue officials.

A group of 50 students and parents gathered at Suitland High School before sunrise for an early morning rally against a budget plan that would eliminate busing for magnet programs.

Mount St. Mary's receives $250K donation
