Gunman holds five hostage in Va. post office

A man armed with a weapon and explosives is reportedly holding five people hostage at a post office in Wytheville, Va., according to the Wytheville Enterprise.

The man is said to have five hostages and five pounds of C-4, a common plastic explosive, strapped to his wheelchair, according to police.

According to the Wytheville Enterprise, police were working with the fire department and other agencies to evacuate Main Street.

This can not be!!! Somebody took a weapon into a Gun Free Federal Zone? That is against the law!!!!!

What we have here, at least at this point, is not an Active Shooter, but someone who is seizing hostages to make a point. No Cho here. Bring on the SWAT and the negotiators.

But being a Gun Free Zone sure made the hostage taking a lot less stressful for the whack job at the Post Office. Will get them some attention....

I like how the WaPo labeled C-4 as a "common" plastic explosive...as if you can drive to your nearest 7-11 in Virginia and pick it up along with a slurpee.....
