Gunshots on Georgia Avenue NW

By Eric Athas

A barrage of gunshots broke out Sunday afternoon on Georgia Avenue NW, leaving one man wounded, authorities said.

The man was struck in an arm and a leg in the flurry of gunfire, which broke out about 3 p.m. at Georgia Avenue and Morton Street, in the Park View/ Pleasant Plains area.

The intersection is a few blocks south of the intersection of Georgia and New Hampshire Avenues, NW, the site of the Georgia Avenue Petworth Metro station.
It was not clear what prompted the shooting.
