GWU to launch nursing school
The George Washington University Board of Trustees has approved the formation of the GWU School of Nursing, responding to high demand for its nursing degrees, the Washington Business Journal reports.
The new school will offer a master's of science degree in nursing, a doctorate degree in nursing practice and a second bachelor's of science degree in nursing, while making available other post-master's certificate programs that are currently offered through its Department of Nursing Education at the GWU School of Medicine.
The new school will be housed at both the university's main campus in Foggy Bottom and its Loudoun County campus, which includes a newly built 30,000-square foot simulation lab. The university said the school already has 30 faculty members in place and expects to hire more.
