Funny fortunes, pizza lollipops: D.C. blogs

Good afternoon. Most of the ballots have been counted and the results are in (at least most of them.) Whether your candidate or issue won or lost, you should feel good about voting. We know you may be full up on election news (and if you're not check out Post Local for results and analysis) so I've got a nice selection of seasonal, but non-election-related posts from the D.C. area blogosphere.

DC Like a Local has details on how to enter the lottery to get tickets for the National Christmas Tree Lighting set for Dec. 9. You can enter starting this Friday.

Johnna Knows Good Food tackles this sticky question: Is it bad manners to take pictures of food in restaurants?

Hot dog on a stick. Cheesecake on a stick. Wonder what’s next. So Good presents the pizza lollipop. Will we be seeing this baby at the next round of state fairs?

I love this very funny fortune Plight of the Pumpernickel received when she cracked open her cookie after dinner at Shanghai Garden in D.C.'s Van Ness neighborhood.

From Maryland Daily Photo a pretty – yes, pretty – shot of the Beltway. Ah, the magic of photography.

That's it for now. Thanks for reading (and thanks for the retweets!) Remember: if there's a blog out there that I'm missing, post it in the comments section below or shoot me an e-mail and let me know -- aratanil@washpost.com. Have a great afternoon and evening.
