Good afternoon. If you're office is anything like mine, you're probably looking at a lot of empty cubicles right now. Indeed, the Thanksgiving getaway is well under way. But D.C.-area bloggers are still working hard. In between packing their suitcase (or packing their refrigerators full of dinner delights) they've been posting away. Today's selection -- all kinds of useful tips (how NOT to burn down your house) as well as a style question: what's your Thanksgiving eating style?

Ode Street Tribune offers this post on what he’s thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Still looking for a Thanksgiving side dish? Clarendon Culture offers this suggestion.

From the Arlington County Fire Department via, some safety tips if you’re going to fry your turkey this year. Also, from Nancy At Large: how not to burn down your house this Thanksgiving.

So Good on Thanksgiving eating styles. Are you Dad or Uncle Jerry?

Tips for a ‘green’ Black Friday from the Metro D.C. Mom blog. (And you know what they say, listen to your mom!)

That's it for now. Thanks for reading and have a very Happy Thanksgiving! And to all you D.C.-area bloggers who have made my job so much fun this year, thank you for all your hard work.
