Street tables, orphan blocks: DC's blogs

By Washington Post editors

Good afternoon.

Today's selections from the D.C. area blogosphere will help you at home (a roomier closet!) and when you're trying to figure out where you want to eat. U Street Girl looked a restaurant inspection reports (always a good source of headlines). Meanwhile, Georgetown University's mascot was a target of a high school student in need of some throwing practice.

BeyondDC ponders Vermont Avenue’s "orphan block" and wonders whether it could have a more glorious future if it ceased to be a street.

Vox Populi reports that Jack the bulldog, who also happens to be Georgetown University’s mascot, was allegedly assaulted yesterday by a water balloon-tossing high school student. Fortunately, it was a high school student with bad aim.

New Columbia Heights spots signage for a "street table" and wonders. We wonder too.

U Street Girl presents: U Street restaurants and … health inspections. Always good to know even if you feel far less hungry after reading.

Here’s advice I can definitely use. DC Ladies has a post on how to add space to your closet. I’m all eyes.

That's it for today. Thanks for reading. We love combing through the D.C. blogosphere and sharing some of the entries that catch our eye.
