Dupont Circle accident cleared
UPDATE 5 p.m.:
The scene is clear, with traffic moving freely in both directions.
Earlier post:
Connecticut Avenue NW near Dupont Circle is the site of a major police and rescue operation after a woman riding a scooter was hit by an SUV.
There is a large convergence of emergency vehicles, and commuters should expect delays on the artery just north of downtown.
The intersection near N Street is part of a complex confluence of streets that can be difficult for pedestrians to cross.
