Man arrested for calling 911 repeatedly
A Lexington Park man has been charged with telephone misuse after he was warned to stop calling 911, according to the Associated Press.
The St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office said Ralph Tawney Jr., 51, called the sheriff’s office and 911 nine times in a two-and-a-half hour period on Sunday to report alleged illegal activity. A deputy visited Tawney’s house and told him not to call again unless he had a crime to report.
Tawney called 911 less than half an hour after the deputy left, authorities said.
